Break in Lille

We arrived back today earlier than we thought from Lille in France. We had taken Win and George there for there 61st Wedding Anniversary, after all, not many people can brag about being married for 61 years can they? Anyway, we had a good time although the weather was cold, windy and occasionally, wet, but this did not deter us 'Brits' from enjoying ourselves. It is very pretty in Lille and I loved all the tiny streets with their very very expensive clothe's shops, Colin being a little bit mean would not let me spend 199 euros on a pair of lovely black shoes which I really liked, why not I do not know. Needless to say in the enclosed pictures, we do seem to always have a glass of wine in our hands, this was just for show of course!!!!!!! We managed to get our return train time brought forward to 2pm instead of 8.30pm which meant we arrived back home at 4.30 compared to 11.30pm. The Eurostar is brilliant, it only took one and half hours to get from St. Pancras station in London to Lille, the ride is so smooth you could put a glass of water (or whatever else) on the little table and it does not move, pretty amazing I think seeing as the train is moving approx. 160 miles an hour. Anyway, hope you like the pictures.
