Lindy's 60th birthday

My very good friend Lindy turned 60 and had a 1940's birthday party on 29th Aug, she is the one in the red dress. Everyone dressed up in 1940's costume and all looked great, there was a variety of outfits ranging from an evacuee, land army girls, spivs, farmworkers (which Colin went as), american and british servicemen and ladies out to tea (that was me). Lindy had the hall decorated with bunting, old posters and had ration books printed, the band she had was a 'swing band', they were really good and some of the music played was from the Glen Miller era. Lindy looked liked she was having a great time which she deserved. Lindy and I trained together along with Raine, Gill and Veronica who are in the group picture, two of our group are not in the picture, Elaine was doing the catering and was in the kitchen when the photo was taken, Alicia couldn't make the party, she had to travel up from Cornwall but her daughter had just had her first baby and Alicia was helping her out.
